Hi
I am Nigel Ipinson-Fleming, and I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit my website and read the blog post that kicks off this phase of my journey.
Why me, and why this?
I am best known as the keyboard player for OMD and the Stone Roses, but over 20 years ago I made the decision to take control of my life by deciding to take responsibility for where I wanted to be.
You would think that being in 2 of the most successful bands in the history of the UK music industry would be described as success, but there is nothing worse than climbing a ladder only to find that it is leaning against the wrong wall.
Sometimes rock bottom is the best foundation that you can have, and I decided to start again.
Along the way I have grown a family, established businesses, met triumph and disaster, and learnt how to treat both exactly the same.
The resources I am providing is my desire to put into an easy to look, listen and learn format, the lessons that I have acquired and continue to acquire along the way, in order to help us both.
I have had to study a lot of writers and great coaches who have assisted me on my journey, but if I am completely honest, the best inspiration and tools to survive and win I actually found when my back was against the wall and I needed to find a sustainable way out.
The key lesson that I continue to learn on my journey is that taking complete ownership of your outcomes by holding no one but yourself responsible for them, is the most powerful thing you can do to drive your success.
The secret to this lies in Facing, Overcoming and Becoming.
Facing means being willing to address reality head-on, and this gives you a huge edge. It puts you in a position to start thinking about what can be done differently, which is overcoming, and becoming means being accountable for your results until you see them.
Long lasting change will only come about as a result of your commitment to the process.
Here is what’s likely to happen: You will try stuff and you will fail.
You will wake up on some mornings ready to go, fully motivated, and something will come along to completely knock the wind out of your sails.
Some days you are going to want to take to your bed and never get up AGAIN!
You will receive a text or an email that will derail your plans, skew your thinking, and start the dialogue in your head that says, “I knew this would happen, I am useless, and its never going to work”.
However you will have days when you will receive an unexpected surprise, an open door, the opportunity you thought would never come.
There will be times when you will feel so in the zone and in harmony with your inner self and the God of the universe, that you will effortlessly pound mental barriers to pieces, you will feel like you could stay awake for days on end, and you will know for a certainty who you are, and why you are here.
You see in this way you are no different to the greats, be it Mother Theresa, the late great Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Mohammed Ali or the peerless Nelson Mandela.
If you had the opportunity to sit with them all, they would be able to relay to you their own dark nights of the soul and the see saw of life emotions that I have described above.
The secret is that there is no secret, and the idea is that you commit wholeheartedly to your own desire to quit being sick and tired of being sick and tired!
I will soon be launching a range of coaching programs that you will be able to access via social media, this website, my app, seminars and one to one, so stay in touch, and if you have a question, I will be happy to help.
Have a great day and remember that if you ask better questions, you will get better answers.
